I should have been a pair of ragged claws
Scuttling across the floors of silent seas.

Character Profile
Character Name: Marcus Crowley
Character Age: 36
Origin: Lighthalzen, Schwarzwald Republic
Job&Build: Wizard
Weapon Type: Wand
Looks: Being of Schwarzwaldern and Kunlun heritage, Marcus has long, glossy black hair and dark brown almond-shaped eyes. He inherited his father’s strong, aquiline nose as well as his well-shaped mouth. His facial structure is rather delicate for a man’s, with high cheekbones and a rounded jaw line. He stands at 6’1” and weighs about 165 lbs. Marcus generally dresses himself in modest robes of green, black or brown.
PB: Feilong from Naked Truth
Background: Marcus was born and raised in Lighthalzen by his parents and two elder sisters, Clara and Elena. From a young age he was something of a troublemaker and frequently got into trouble with the other boys living in the slums. Being by far the cleverest of his siblings, he was sent to the Mage School in Geffen at the age of 7 with the measly amount of money that his family had been able to save. Due to his talent for magic and its theories, the school allowed him to study there for free with the agreement that he would pay for his education upon graduation. At 15, Marcus graduated and moved on to study at the Wizard Academy. As a wizard-in-training, he hardly had any time to spare between studying and paying off his loan from the Mage School. He had a similar payment plan set up with the Wizard Academy and did not want to allow his debt to pile up. Upon his graduation at the age of 19, Marcus took a year off (he already had a teaching position lined up at the Wizard Academy with which to pay off his startling debt) to visit his family in Schwarzwald. His parents had managed to, through a series of lucky investments, move out of the slums of Lighthalzen to Einbroch. His eldest sister, Clara, lived with her husband and 5 children in Hugel Town, while his other sister, Elena, had married a wealthy businessman and now lived in Juno with her 2 sons. Once he had grown suitably sick of his family, Marcus returned to Geffen to begin his new job as a professor. During his first year of teaching he became enamored, almost to the point of obsession, with one of his fourth year students, Eve. After an awkward courtship that began soon before she graduated, the two were married. Happy to have such a wonderful woman as his wife (Eve had been one of the most beloved students in the school), Marcus settled into a pleasant routine which was broken by the birth of their daughter, Imogen. Two years later, Eve fell quite ill. Unable to afford to hire a doctor and quite confident in the Kunlun medicine his mother had passed on to him, Marcus insisted that he could treat her himself. A few months later, after a painful fight for her life, Eve died. Marcus was devastated, even more so when rumors began to spread that he had poisoned her on purpose. Still, he had to be strong for Imogen so, after the mourning period had ended, Marcus locked away his grief and guilt and did what had to be done. To this day he works at the Wizard Academy, his debt almost paid off, and lives with his daughter in a modest home on the outskirts of Geffen.
During his time as a student at the Wizard Academy, Marcus engaged in affairs with many girls. One of these afairs lead to the birth of a son that Marcus has no knowledge of.
Personality: Marcus is, on principle, a very terse and serious individual. He uses his words sparingly and few can recall him speaking for more than a few minutes at a time unless lecturing. He is quite confident in his intelligence and magical abilities to the point of being arrogant and very humble about everything else. He cares deeply for few things, namely his daughter and the pursuit of knowledge, and is almost entirely forgettable by most who meet him. He is usually referred to as “Professor What’s-His-Name Who Killed His Wife”. Because of this suspicion, few who knew his wife or have heard the rumors care for him, which usually suits him fine. He no longer believes that one should indulge in such emotions as guilt, regret, envy and love, as these cause an individual to behave selfishly.
Likes: His daughter, learning, routine, his family (for the most part and in small doses), playing the viola (his most prized possession since he was 9) and loyal animals (Imogen currently has a pet smokie.).
Dislikes: Children (aside from Imogen), teaching, gossip, indulgent people, having to explain things twice, thinking about the past.
Marital Status: Widower
Family: Marcus has two elder sisters who still live in Schwarzwald. He has a hoard of nieces and nephews, which he constantly thanks their husbands for. Also, he has a son and a daughter, Imogen. His daughter has been in his care since her birth 7 years ago.
Occupation: Professor at the Wizard Academy and occasionally at the Mage School.
Home: Geffen
Language Proficiency: Fluent in Basic, Midgardian, Schwarzwaldern and conversational in Kunlun.
"I twist like a corkscrew,
The sweetness rising.
I drink from the bottle, weeping,
'Why won't you last?
Why can't you last?'
So I will walk without care.
Beat my snare.
Look like a man who means business.
Go to all the poshest places
With their familiar faces.
Terminate all signs of weakness.
Oh, all for the sake of a foolish love.
I will take my coffee black,
Never snack,
Hang with the wolves who are sheepish,
Flow through the veins of town,
Always frown,
Me and my mistress, the princess.
Oh, all for the sake of a foolish love.
So the day noah's ark floats down park
My eyes will be simply glazed over.
Or better yet,
I'll wear shades on sunless days
And when the sun's out, i'll stay in and slumber.
Oh, all for the sake of a foolish love.
All for the sake of a foolish love."
-Foolish Love, Rufus Wainwright
"I am a poor man.
I haven't wealth nor fame.
I have my two hands
and a house to my name.
And the winter's so
And the winter's so long.
And the winter's so
And the winter's so long.
And all the stars were crashing 'round
As I laid eyes on what I'd found."
